grocers, postman and local tavern owner near his home Bucklebury are among those who received the coveted white card through the mail.
Hash Shingadia, who runs the Spar shop Peaches in Upper Bucklebury Chan and his wife, was "over the moon, " he tells PEOPLE. "When my wife saw an envelope with EIIR sign on the front side, she screamed. This is terrible news, a total surprise. We were overjoyed ."
Shingadia and his wife were in the village 12 years and have known Kate for "about four," he says. She pops in for food, beverage cans, magazines and candy - especially Haribo sweets. And she was there with Prince William a few times as well.
"He was very nice, " says Shingadia. "Just an ordinary man." And together, the couple have "good chemistry,"said the report. "You can see that the young couple in love."
shopkeeper added that he was teasing Kate about her upcoming wedding - joking that if she was to get married like a lot of notice in order to get his suit dry-cleaned. Now, he will have to do just that.
Another happy customer? John Haley, owner of the Old Boot Inn, where the couple tucked in for a drink.
"It was incredible, and to actually receive!" He said call, said it would be to double the duty of revelry 29th April. "We are here with a massive celebration in the evening so I'll be back for it."
Locals also say that Ryan Naylor, Middleton is a postman, has received an invitation. "The family is very close knit with the people in that area," a source tells PEOPLE palace. "I hope many people will be surprised to be called beautiful."
While kings and prime ministers around the world get a gold plated invitation, the event format to include all the different types of VIP.
"It's not quite a star-studded event, " says the source. "Not many people are there [only] because the office they hold ."
